Yacine Brahimi (born 8 February 1990) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Qatari club Al-Rayyan and the Algeria national team.
Club career Rennes Born in Paris, France, Brahimi began his career with Ivry-sur-Seine in 2006, before joining Paris Saint-Germain a year later. In 2009, he signed for Rennes, where he made his professional debut on 25 October, coming on as a substitute in a 0–0 draw against Auxerre. He scored his first goal for the club on 13 December, in a 2–0 win over Lens.
In the 2010–11 season, Brahimi was a key player for Rennes as they finished sixth in Ligue 1 and qualified for the Europa League. He scored eight goals in 34 league appearances, and also provided seven assists.
Granada In August 2012, Brahimi joined Spanish club Granada on a four-year contract for a fee of €2.5 million. He made his debut for the club on 19 August, in a 1–0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao. He scored his first goal for Granada on 26 September, in a 2–1 win over Real Zaragoza.
Brahimi was a regular starter for Granada during his two seasons at the club, making 74 appearances in all competitions and scoring 15 goals.
Porto In July 2014, Brahimi joined Portuguese club Porto on a five-year contract for a fee of €6.5 million. He made his debut for the club on 16 August, in a 2–0 win over Vitória de Guimarães. He scored his first goal for Porto on 23 September, in a 3–0 win over Arouca.
Brahimi was a key player for Porto during his four seasons at the club, making 119 appearances in all competitions and scoring 22 goals. He helped the club win the Primeira Liga title in the 2017–18 season, and also won the Taça de Portugal in the 2016–17 season.
Al-Rayyan In September 2018, Brahimi joined Qatari club Al-Rayyan on a three-year contract for a fee of €10 million. He made his debut for the club on 20 September, in a 2–1 win over Al-Sadd. He scored his first goal for Al-Rayyan on 28 September, in a 3–0 win over Al-Khor.
Brahimi was a regular starter for Al-Rayyan during his three seasons at the club, making 69 appearances in all competitions and scoring 18 goals. He helped the club win the Qatar Stars League title in the 2019–20 season.
Al-Gharafa In September 2021, Brahimi joined Qatari club Al-Gharafa on a two-year contract. He made his debut for the club on 11 September, in a 1–0 win over Al-Wakrah. He scored his first goal for Al-Gharafa on 25 September, in a 2–1 win over Al-Arabi.
Brahimi made 38 appearances for Al-Gharafa in all competitions, scoring seven goals. He helped the club finish fourth in the Qatar Stars League in the 2021–22 season.
Return to Al-Rayyan In January 2023, Brahimi returned to Al-Rayyan on a six-month contract.
International career Brahimi was born in France to Algerian parents. He was eligible to represent both France and Algeria at international level. In 2013, he opted to represent Algeria, making his debut for the team on 26 March, in a 3–1 win over Benin. He scored his first goal for Algeria on 2 June, in a 2–0 win over Rwanda.
Brahimi was a key player for Algeria as they won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019. He made six appearances in the tournament, scoring one goal.
Brahimi retired from international football in 2022, after making 54 appearances for Algeria and scoring 10 goals.
