Leandro Paredes (born 29 June 1994) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Serie A club Juventus, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, and the Argentina national team.
Early life and career
Paredes was born in San Justo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started playing football at the age of five, joining the youth academy of Boca Juniors. He made his senior debut for Boca Juniors in 2010, at the age of 16. He spent four seasons with Boca Juniors, making 69 appearances and scoring 10 goals.
Club career
In 2014, Paredes moved to Italian club Chievo. He made 30 appearances for Chievo in the 2014–15 season.
In 2015, Paredes moved to Roma. He made 90 appearances for Roma in two seasons, scoring four goals.
In 2017, Paredes moved to Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg. He made 61 appearances for Zenit in two seasons, scoring seven goals.
In 2019, Paredes moved to French club Paris Saint-Germain. He made 117 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain in three seasons, scoring four goals.
In 2023, Paredes moved to Juventus on a loan deal.
International career
Paredes made his debut for the Argentina national team in 2017. He has since made 45 appearances for Argentina, scoring four goals.
He was a member of the Argentina squad that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
