Michelle Yeoh Choo-Kheng (born 6 August 1962) is a Malaysian actress. She is one of the most successful and influential Asian actresses in the world. Yeoh has starred in over 100 films and has won numerous awards, including a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Yeoh was born in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, to Janet Yeoh and Khye Han Yeoh. She has two siblings, an older brother and a younger sister. Yeoh attended the Main Convent Ipoh and the St. George's Girls' School in Penang. She then moved to London, England, to study ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance.
Yeoh began her acting career in the early 1980s, appearing in several Hong Kong films. She made her international debut in the 1992 film Supercop.
