Early life and career
Alexis Sánchez was born on December 19, 1988, in Tocopilla, Chile. He began playing football at a young age and joined the youth academy of Cobreloa at the age of 15. He made his professional debut for the club in 2005 and quickly established himself as one of the most promising young players in Chile.
Career in Europe
In 2006, Sánchez moved to Europe to join Udinese in Italy. He spent three seasons with the club, scoring 20 goals in 95 appearances. In 2009, he was signed by Barcelona for a fee of €25 million.
Sánchez spent three seasons at Barcelona, winning the La Liga title three times and the UEFA Champions League once. He scored 47 goals in 141 appearances for the club. In 2014, he moved to Arsenal for a fee of £35 million.
Sánchez spent four seasons at Arsenal, scoring 80 goals in 166 appearances. He was the club's top scorer in the 2016–17 season, with 30 goals in all competitions. In 2018, he moved to Manchester United for a fee of £89 million.
