Early life and career

Jennifer Lopez was born on July 24, 1969, in the Bronx, New York City, to Puerto Rican parents. She began her career as a dancer, appearing in music videos for artists such as Janet Jackson and Madonna. In 1991, she made her film debut in the film My Little Girl.

Acting career

Lopez's breakthrough role came in the 1997 film Selena, in which she played the Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. Her performance in the film earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

Lopez has since starred in a number of successful films, including Out of Sight (1998), The Wedding Planner (2001), Maid in Manhattan (2002), Shall We Dance? (2004), Monster-in-Law (2005), The Back-Up Plan (2010), What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012), and Hustlers (2019).

Music career

Lopez released her debut studio album, On the 6, in 1999. The album was a commercial success, selling over 8 million copies worldwide. Lopez has since released eight more studio albums, all of which have been certified platinum or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Lopez is one of the best-selling Latin artists of all time, with over 75 million records sold worldwide. She has also won numerous awards for her music, including three American Music Awards, three Billboard Latin Music Awards, and two Grammy Awards.

Jennifer Lopez has been married three times. She was married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, to Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003, and to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. She has two children with Anthony, twins Max and Emme.

Lopez is currently engaged to actor Ben Affleck. The couple were previously engaged from 2002 to 2004.
