Christiane Hörbiger
Christiane Hörbiger (13 October 1938 – 30 November 2022) was an Austrian actress. She appeared in more than 150 films and television shows between 1955 and 2022.
Hörbiger was born in Vienna, Austria, the daughter of actor Attila Hörbiger and actress Paula Wessely. She made her stage debut at the age of 16 in 1954, and her film debut in 1955. She quickly became one of the most popular actresses in Austria and Germany, and starred in a wide variety of films, from comedies to dramas to historical epics.

Hörbiger also had a successful career on television, appearing in numerous series and made-for-TV movies. She won numerous awards for her work, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy in 1968 for her performance in The White Horse Inn.
Hörbiger was married three times, first to actor Rolf Thiele from 1959 to 1965, then to actor Harald Leipnitz from 1975 to 1983, and finally to actor Gerhard Tötschinger from 1983 until his death in 2016. She had two children, a son, Sascha Thiele, and a daughter, Katharina Leipnitz, both of whom are actors.
Hörbiger died in Vienna on 30 November 2022, at the age of 84. She is survived by her children and grandchildren.
