Connie Nielsen

Connie Inge-Lise Nielsen (born 3 July 1965) is a Danish actress. She is known for her roles in the films Gladiator (2000), Mission to Mars (2000), One Hour Photo (2002), Basic (2003), The Devil's Advocate (1997), Wonder Woman (2017), and Justice League (2017). She also starred in the television series Boss (2011–2012) and The Good Wife (2014–2015).

Early life and education Nielsen was born in Frederikshavn, Denmark, the daughter of Bent Nielsen, a bus driver, and Inge Nielsen, an insurance company clerk. She has two older brothers. Nielsen attended the local primary school and then the Frederikshavn Gymnasium. After graduating from high school, she worked as a model in Paris, Milan, and Tokyo.

Career Nielsen began her acting career in 1984, when she appeared in the Danish film Par où t'es rentré? On t'a pas vu sortir. She made her American film debut in 1997, in the thriller The Devil's Advocate. In 2000, she starred in two major Hollywood films, Gladiator and Mission to Mars. Gladiator was a critical and commercial success, and Nielsen received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Nielsen has since starred in a number of films, including One Hour Photo (2002), Basic (2003), The Great Gatsby (2013), and Wonder Woman (2017). She has also appeared in the television series Boss (2011–2012) and The Good Wife (2014–2015).

Personal life Nielsen was married to Italian actor Fabio Sartori from 1989 to 1994. They have one son, Sebastian. Nielsen dated American actor Rufus Sewell from 2004 to 2012. They have one son, Bryce.

In 2016, Nielsen purchased a 12-acre estate in Pound Ridge, New York.
