Iveta Bartošová
Iveta Bartošová (April 8, 1966 – April 29, 2014) was a Czech pop singer, occasional actress and one of the most popular celebrities in the Czech Republic. Her greatest hits include "Knoflíky lásky" ("Love Buttons"), "Tři oříšky pro Popelku" ("Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella") and "Dívka s perlami ve vlasech" ("Girl with Pearls in Her Hair").
Bartošová was born in Čeladná, Czechoslovakia. She began her singing career in 1983, after winning a talent show. In 1985, she released her debut album, "Iveta". The album was a commercial success, and Bartošová quickly became one of the most popular singers in Czechoslovakia.
In 1987, Bartošová represented Czechoslovakia in the Eurovision Song Contest, with the song "Nahý den" ("Naked Day"). The song finished 19th out of 22.
In the 1990s, Bartošová continued to release successful albums, including "Blízko nás" ("Close to Us") and "Malé bílé cosi" ("A Little White Thing"). She also began acting, appearing in several films and television shows.
In the early 2000s, Bartošová's career began to decline. She struggled with personal problems, including a highly publicized divorce from her husband, Ladislav Štaidl. She also became increasingly controversial, due to her outspoken views on politics and social issues.
In 2009, Bartošová attempted suicide. She was hospitalized for several months, and her career was put on hold.
In 2014, Bartošová was killed after being struck by a train. Her death was ruled a suicide.
Bartošová was a controversial figure, but she was also one of the most popular singers in the Czech Republic. Her music continues to be enjoyed by fans all over the world.
