Aster Aweke

Aster Aweke (born October 20, 1981, in Wadla, Ethiopia) is an Ethiopian singer and songwriter. She is one of the most popular and successful Ethiopian musicians of all time.

Aweke was born into a musical family. Her father, Aweke Tekle, was a renowned azmari (traditional Ethiopian musician), and her mother, Tsehaynesh Kebede, was a singer. Aweke began singing at a young age, and she was often featured on her father's albums.
