Olivier Giroud (born 30 September 1986) is a French professional footballer who plays as a striker for Serie A club Milan and the France national team.
Giroud began his career at Grenoble, where he spent three seasons before moving to Tours in 2008. In 2010, he joined Montpellier, where he won the Ligue 1 title in 2011–12. In 2012, he moved to Arsenal, where he scored 105 goals in 253 appearances and won the FA Cup three times. In 2018, he joined Chelsea, where he scored 39 goals in 119 appearances and won the FA Cup once, the UEFA Champions League once, the UEFA Europa League once, and the FIFA Club World Cup once. In 2021, he joined Milan.
Giroud made his international debut for France in 2011. He has since earned over 100 caps and scored over 40 goals for his country. He was a member of the French teams that won the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and the UEFA Nations League in 2021.
Playing style
Giroud is a target man who is known for his strength, aerial ability, and ability to hold up the ball. He is also a good finisher with both feet and his head.
