Andreea Bălan

Andreea Bălan (born June 23, 1984) is a Romanian singer, songwriter, dancer, television personality, and actress. She rose to fame as a founding member of the Romanian girl group Andre, which she was part of from 1998 to 2001. After the group disbanded, she embarked on a successful solo career, releasing eleven studio albums and numerous singles. Bălan has also appeared in several television shows and films, including the Romanian version of Dancing with the Stars, which she won in 2011.

Early life

Andreea Bălan was born on June 23, 1984, in Ploiești, Romania. She began singing and dancing at a young age, and she attended the George Enescu National College of Music in Bucharest.

Career

Andre

In 1998, Bălan joined the Romanian girl group Andre, along with Andreea Antonescu. The group quickly became one of the most popular in Romania, releasing three studio albums and numerous singles. In 2001, the group disbanded after Antonescu decided to pursue a solo career.

Solo career

After Andre disbanded, Bălan embarked on a successful solo career. She released her debut album, "Te joci cu mine", in 2002. The album was a commercial success, selling over 100,000 copies in Romania. Bălan followed up with her second album, "Liberă din nou", in 2003. The album was also a commercial success, selling over 70,000 copies in Romania.

Bălan continued to release successful albums throughout the 2000s and 2010s. Her most recent album, "Ce s-a întâmplat cu noi?", was released in 2018. The album was a commercial success, selling over 50,000 copies in Romania.

Television and film

In addition to her music career, Bălan has also appeared in several television shows and films. She was a contestant on the Romanian version of Dancing with the Stars in 2011, which she won. She has also appeared in several Romanian films, including "Ho Ho Ho" (2010) and "Băieți buni" (2015).

Personal life

Bălan was married to George Burcea from 2017 to 2020. They have two daughters together.
