Halle Berry

Halle Berry (born August 14, 1966) is an American actress. She is the only African-American woman to have won the Academy Award for Best Actress, which she received for her performance in the 2001 film Monster's Ball. Berry has also won a Golden Globe Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Berry was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She began her career as a model, and she was crowned Miss USA in 1986. Berry then moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She made her film debut in the 1991 film Jungle Fever.

Berry's breakthrough role came in the 1992 film Boomerang. She went on to star in a number of successful films, including The Flintstones (1994), Losing Isaiah (1995), Bulworth (1998), and X-Men (2000).

In 2001, Berry won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Monster's Ball. She was the first African-American woman to win the award. Berry has continued to star in successful films, including Die Another Day (2002), Gothika (2003), Catwoman (2004), and Cloud Atlas (2012).

In addition to her acting career, Berry is also a producer and a director. She produced and starred in the 2013 film Frankie & Alice, and she directed the 2020 film Bruised.

Personal life

Halle Berry has been married three times. Her first marriage was to baseball player David Justice from 1993 to 1997. Her second marriage was to singer Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005. Berry's third marriage was to actor Olivier Martinez from 2013 to 2016. Berry has two children, a daughter named Nahla with model Gabriel Aubry and a son named Maceo with Olivier Martinez.

Berry is a vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement. She has also spoken out against domestic violence and sexual assault. Berry is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
