Eve Myles is a Welsh actress known for her roles as Gwen Cooper in the BBC science fiction series Torchwood, Vera Reynolds in the ITV crime drama Vera, and Frankie Jones in the Sky comedy-drama Keeping Faith.

Early life and career

Myles was born in Ystradgynlais, Powys, Wales. She trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff and began her career in theatre. In 2000, she made her television debut in the BBC Wales drama Belonging.

Torchwood

Myles' breakout role came in 2006, when she was cast as Gwen Cooper in the BBC science fiction series Torchwood. The show was a spin-off of Doctor Who and followed the adventures of a team of alien hunters. Myles played Gwen, a police officer who is recruited to join the team. The show was a critical and commercial success and ran for four seasons.

Vera

In 2011, Myles began starring in the ITV crime drama Vera. The show is based on the Vera Stanhope novels by Ann Cleeves. Myles plays Vera, a gruff and uncompromising detective inspector who investigates murders in the fictional town of Northumberland. The show has been a critical and commercial success and has run for 11 seasons.

Keeping Faith

In 2017, Myles starred in the Sky comedy-drama Keeping Faith. The show follows the story of Faith Howells, a lawyer who investigates the disappearance of her husband. The show was a critical and commercial success and ran for two seasons.
