Tanel Padar
Tanel Padar (born 27 October 1980) is an Estonian singer, musician, and actor. He is best known as the lead singer of the band Tanel Padar & the Sun, with whom he won the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with the song "Everybody".
Padar was born in Pärnu, Estonia. He began singing in a church choir at the age of four. He later studied music at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.
In 1996, Padar formed the band Tanel Padar & the Sun. The band released their debut album, "The Sun", in 1999. The album was a commercial success, selling over 10,000 copies in Estonia.
In 2001, Tanel Padar & the Sun represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest. They won the competition with the song "Everybody", becoming the first Estonian act to win the contest. The song was a commercial success, reaching the top ten in several countries, including Austria, Germany, and Sweden.
After winning the Eurovision Song Contest, Tanel Padar & the Sun released their second album, "City of Stars", in 2002. The album was also a commercial success, selling over 10,000 copies in Estonia.
In 2003, Tanel Padar began a solo career. He released his debut solo album, "Padar", in 2005. The album was a commercial success, selling over 10,000 copies in Estonia.
Padar has also been active in musical theatre. He has starred in productions of "Les Misérables", "Chicago", and "The Phantom of the Opera".
In 2010, Padar was elected to the Estonian Parliament. He served in Parliament for one term, from 2011 to 2015.
Padar continues to release music and perform live. He is one of the most popular singers in Estonia.
