Kate del Castillo Negrete Trillo (born October 23, 1972) is a Mexican-American actress, producer, and businesswoman. She is known for her roles in the telenovelas Muchachitas (1991–1992), Ramona (2000), and La Reina del Sur (2011–2019). Del Castillo has also starred in the films Under the Same Moon (2007), Bad Boys for Life (2020), and The 33 (2015).
Del Castillo was born in Mexico City, Mexico, to Eric del Castillo, a Mexican actor, and Kate Trillo, a Mexican actress and singer. She has two sisters, Veronica and Paulina. Del Castillo began her acting career at the age of 16, when she appeared in the telenovela Muchachitas.
