Nargis Fakhri
Nargis Fakhri is a Czech-born American actress and mannequin, working primarily in India. She rose to fame after her Bollywood debut in Imtiaz Ali's romantic comedy Rockstar (2011), for which she earned a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Female Debut. Fakhri has since starred in several commercially successful films, including Madras Cafe (2013), Main Tera Hero (2014), Azhar (2016), and Banjo (2016).
Nargis Fakhri was born on October 20, 1984, in Prague, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). Her father is a Pakistani businessman, and her mother is a Czech woman. Fakhri moved to the United States with her family when she was six years old. She grew up in Queens, New York, and attended Queens College, City University of New York. Fakhri graduated with a degree in psychology in 2007.
After graduating from college, Fakhri worked as a model in New York City. She was signed to Wilhelmina Models and appeared in magazines such as Maxim, GQ, and Elle. In 2011, Fakhri made her Bollywood debut in Imtiaz Ali's romantic comedy Rockstar. The film was a commercial success, and Fakhri earned a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Female Debut.
Fakhri has since starred in several commercially successful films, including Madras Cafe (2013), Main Tera Hero (2014), Azhar (2016), and Banjo (2016). She has also appeared in several music videos, including "Mast Magan" by Meet Bros ft. Yo Yo Honey Singh (2014) and "Tu Hi Tu" by Akhil Sachdeva ft. Badshah (2015).
In addition to her acting career, Fakhri is also a vocal advocate for women's rights and gender equality. She has spoken out against domestic violence and sexual assault, and she has worked with various organizations to promote women's empowerment.
Fakhri is currently based in Mumbai, India. She is fluent in English, Czech, and Hindi. She is also a trained Kathak dancer.
