Early life and career

Olivia Hussey was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Argentine journalist Osvaldo Rivaldo Hussey and English opera singer Joy Alma Hussey (née Smith). She moved to England with her family at the age of two. She began her acting career in the early 1960s, appearing in small roles in films such as The Battle of the Villa Fiorita (1965) and Cup Fever (1965). She had her breakthrough role in the 1968 film Romeo and Juliet, in which she played Juliet to Leonard Whiting's Romeo. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Hussey was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.

Later career

Hussey continued to appear in films and television shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Some of her most notable roles during this time include Mary Magdalene in the 1973 film Jesus Christ Superstar, Death in the 1978 film Death on the Nile, and Morgana in the 1981 film Excalibur. In the 1990s, she began appearing more frequently in television movies and series. She had a recurring role on the television series Murder, She Wrote from 1990 to 1996, and she also appeared in the television movies The Odyssey (1997) and Joan of Arc (1999).

In recent years, Hussey has continued to act in both film and television. She has appeared in the films The Nativity Story (2006), Black Christmas (2006), and The Last Exorcism (2010). She has also appeared in the television series Psych (2006-2014) and Stitchers (2015-2017).

Personal life

Hussey has been married three times. Her first marriage was to actor Dean Paul Martin from 1971 to 1978. They had one son, Alexander Martin. Her second marriage was to Japanese musician Akira Fuse from 1980 to 1989. They had one son, Maximillian Fuse. Her third marriage was to American actor David Glen Eisley from 1991 to 2005. They had one daughter, India Eisley.
