Nyashinski (born Nyamari Ongegu) is a Kenyan rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is a former member of the Camp Mulla music group, which he co-founded in 2008. Nyashinski's solo career began in 2017 when he released his debut album, "Now or Never". The album was a commercial success, and its lead single, "Malaika", became a hit in Kenya.

Early life and education Nyashinski was born in Nairobi, Kenya, to a Luo father and a Kikuyu mother. He attended St. Mary's School, Nairobi, for his primary education, and later joined Starehe Boys' Centre for his secondary education. After completing high school, Nyashinski went on to study at the University of Nairobi, where he pursued a degree in Economics.

Music career Nyashinski's music career began in 2008 when he co-founded the Camp Mulla music group with fellow musicians A.Y, Kaytrixx, and Taio Tripper. The group released their debut album, "Wachanga", in 2009. The album was a commercial success, and its lead single, "Party Don't Stop", became a hit in Kenya.

In 2011, Nyashinski left Camp Mulla to pursue a solo career. He released his debut solo single, "Hapa Kule", in 2012. The song was a commercial success, and it received extensive airplay on Kenyan radio stations. Nyashinski followed up with the release of his second solo single, "Malaika", in 2014. The song was an even bigger hit than his debut single, and it became a national anthem in Kenya.

In 2017, Nyashinski released his debut solo album, "Now or Never". The album was a commercial success, and it received positive reviews from critics. The album's lead single, "Malaika", was a huge hit, and it won Nyashinski the Song of the Year award at the 2017 Groove Awards.
