Anthony Santos (born July 21, 1981), known professionally as Romeo Santos, is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the bachata group Aventura, which he co-founded in 1996. After the group disbanded in 2011, Santos embarked on a solo career.

Santos was born in The Bronx, New York, to Dominican parents. He began singing at a young age and was influenced by bachata, salsa, and R&B music. In 1996, Santos co-founded the bachata group Aventura with his cousin Henry Santos and friends Lenny Santos and Mikey Santos. Aventura released their debut album, Generation Next, in 2000. The album was a commercial success, selling over 1 million copies worldwide.

Aventura released four more studio albums before disbanding in 2011. The group sold over 30 million records worldwide and won numerous awards, including three Premios Lo Nuestro Awards and two Latin Grammy Awards.
