Rabah Madjer

Rabah Madjer (born 15 February 1966) is an Algerian former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is best known for his back-heel goal in the 1987 European Cup Final against Bayern Munich, which was voted as the UEFA Goal of the Season and has been described as one of the greatest goals of all time.

Madjer began his career in Algeria with NA Hussein Dey and RC Kouba before moving to France to play for Tours and Racing Paris. He then joined Porto in Portugal, where he won the Primeira Liga title three times and the European Cup in 1987. Madjer also played for Barcelona in Spain, Qatar SC in Qatar, and Créteil in France before retiring in 1999.

At international level, Madjer represented Algeria at the 1982 FIFA World Cup and the 1986 FIFA World Cup. He was also part of the Algeria team that won the 1990 African Cup of Nations.

After retiring as a player, Madjer worked as a coach and manager. He was the manager of Algeria from 2001 to 2002 and again from 2017 to 2018.
