Machel Montano (born November 24, 1974) is a Trinidadian and Tobagonian soca musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. Referred to as the "King of Soca" and "The Happiest Man on Earth", his music is a fusion of Caribbean soca and calypso music with R&B and hip hop.

Montano began his career as a member of the Square One band in the early 1990s. He released his first solo album, "Too Young to Soca", in 1993. The album was a commercial success, and Montano quickly became one of the most popular soca artists in Trinidad and Tobago.

In 1996, Montano released his second album, "Following". The album was even more successful than his first, and it helped to establish Montano as one of the leading soca artists in the world.

Montano has continued to release successful albums throughout his career. Some of his most popular albums include "The Xtatik Experience" (1999), "The Xtatik Remixes" (2000), "A New Beginning" (2001), "The Fantastic Five" (2003), "The Return of the Legends" (2005), "Wining Season" (2007), "Flame On" (2009), "The Montano Experience" (2011), "Happiest Man Alive" (2013), and "Monk Evolution" (2015).

Montano has also won numerous awards throughout his career. He has won the Trinidad and Tobago Music Award for "Soca Artist of the Year" a record eight times. He has also won the Soul Train Award for "Best International Performance" twice.

In addition to his music career, Montano has also appeared in several films and television shows. He starred in the 2006 film "Carnival Messiah" and the 2013 television series "Machel Montano: The Journey".

Montano is a highly respected and influential figure in the soca music world. He is known for his energetic performances and his ability to connect with his audience. He is also a role model for many young people in Trinidad and Tobago.
