Background
DJ Black was born in Accra, Ghana on July 1, 1973. He is the son of Victor Mensah, a Ghanaian diplomat, and Elizabeth Mensah, a Ghanaian businesswoman. DJ Black has two siblings, a brother named John Mensah and a sister named Elizabeth Mensah.
Education
DJ Black attended Achimota School in Accra, where he studied business administration. He then went on to study law at the University of Ghana, but dropped out after two years.
Career
DJ Black began his career as a disc jockey in 1995. He quickly gained popularity for his unique style of mixing and his ability to hype up a crowd. In 1997, he joined the radio station Joy FM, where he hosted the popular show "The Morning Zoo". He also hosted the television show "The John Show" on TV3.
In 2004, DJ Black left Joy FM to join the radio station Peace FM. He hosted the show "Peace FM's Morning Show" for six years. In 2010, he returned to Joy FM, where he currently hosts the show "The Drive".
DJ Black is also a successful MC. He has hosted numerous events, including the Ghana Music Awards, the Miss Ghana pageant, and the African Movie Academy Awards.
