Billy Ocean was born in Fyzabad, Trinidad and Tobago, on January 21, 1950. He moved to England with his family when he was nine years old. He began singing in local clubs and pubs in the early 1970s, and in 1976 he released his debut album, "Billy Ocean". The album was a commercial success, and it spawned the hit singles "Love Really Hurts Without You" and "Red Light Spells Danger".

Rise to Fame

Ocean's second album, "City Limits", was released in 1978.
