Baghdad Bounedjah (born November 30, 1991) is an Algerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Qatari club Al-Sadd and the Algeria national team.
Club career
USM Alger
Bounedjah began his career at USM Alger in 2011. He made his debut for the club on August 10, 2011, in a league match against MC El Eulma. He scored his first goal for the club on September 17, 2011, in a league match against JS Kabylie. Bounedjah won the Algerian Cup with USM Alger in 2013.
Etoile du Sahel
In 2015, Bounedjah joined Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel. He made his debut for the club on September 12, 2015, in a league match against Club Africain. He scored his first goal for the club on October 18, 2015, in a league match against CA Bizertin. Bounedjah won the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 title and the Tunisian Cup with Etoile du Sahel in 2016.
Al-Sadd
In 2018, Bounedjah joined Qatari club Al-Sadd. He made his debut for the club on January 13, 2018, in a league match against Al-Wakrah. He scored his first goal for the club on January 19, 2018, in a league match against Al-Arabi. Bounedjah has won the Qatari Stars League title, the Qatari Cup, and the Qatari Super Cup with Al-Sadd.
International career
Bounedjah made his debut for the Algeria national team on March 5, 2014, in a friendly match against Slovenia. He scored his first goal for the team on October 14, 2014, in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match against Ethiopia. Bounedjah was part of the Algerian squad that won the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
