Stefanos Tsitsipas
Stefanos Tsitsipas (born 12 August 1998) is a Greek professional tennis player. He is currently ranked world No. 3 in singles, according to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
Tsitsipas has won eight ATP singles titles, including the 2019 ATP Finals and the 2021 Monte-Carlo Masters. He has also reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and French Open.
In 2018, Tsitsipas became the youngest player to reach the semifinals of the Australian Open since Novak Djokovic in 2008. He also became the youngest player to reach the top 10 in the ATP rankings since Rafael Nadal in 2005.
In 2019, Tsitsipas won the ATP Finals, becoming the youngest player to win the event since Lleyton Hewitt in 2001. He also reached the semifinals of the French Open, where he was defeated by Rafael Nadal in four sets.
In 2020, Tsitsipas reached the semifinals of the Australian Open, where he was defeated by Novak Djokovic in five sets. He also reached the quarterfinals of the US Open, where he was defeated by Daniil Medvedev in three sets.
In 2021, Tsitsipas won the Monte-Carlo Masters, defeating Andrey Rublev in the final in three sets. He also reached the semifinals of the French Open, where he was defeated by Novak Djokovic in five sets.
Tsitsipas is known for his aggressive playing style and his powerful forehand. He is also a good all-court player, with strong groundstrokes and a good serve.
Personal Life
Stefanos Tsitsipas was born in Athens, Greece, to Apostolos Tsitsipas and Julia Salnikova. His father is Greek and his mother is Russian. Tsitsipas has two younger siblings, Petros and Eleftheria.
Tsitsipas began playing tennis at the age of six. He trained at the Mouratoglou Academy in France for several years.
Tsitsipas speaks Greek, English, and Russian. He is a fan of basketball and football.
