Juan Manuel Fangio

Juan Manuel Fangio (June 24, 1911 – July 17, 1995) was an Argentine racing car driver who won a record-equaling five Formula One World Drivers' Championships. Fangio is generally regarded as one of the greatest Formula One drivers in history, and he is often ranked among the greatest drivers of all time.

Fangio was born in Balcarce, Argentina, in 1911. He began his racing career in 1934, and he quickly rose through the ranks of the Argentine racing scene. In 1940, he won the Argentine Grand Prix, and in 1941, he won the South American Championship.

In 1949, Fangio made his Formula One debut at the Monaco Grand Prix. He finished third in his first race, and he went on to win his first Formula One race at the Belgian Grand Prix later that year. In 1950, Fangio won the Formula One World Drivers' Championship, and he repeated as champion in 1951 and 1954.

Fangio retired from Formula One in 1958, but he returned to racing in 1960. He won the Formula One World Drivers' Championship again in 1960, and he retired from racing for good in 1961.

Fangio won a total of 24 Formula One races, and he finished on the podium 35 times. He is the only driver to have won the Formula One World Drivers' Championship five times.

Fangio died in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1995. He was 84 years old.
