Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton MBE (born 7 January 1985) is a British racing driver. He currently competes in Formula One for Mercedes, having previously driven for McLaren. Hamilton has won a record seven Formula One World Championships, tied with Michael Schumacher, and holds the records for the most wins (103), pole positions (103), and podium finishes (191) in Formula One. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time.

Hamilton was born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England, to Anthony Hamilton, a black British man, and Carmen Larbalestier, a white British woman. He began karting at the age of eight and quickly rose through the ranks. In 2000, he won the British Kart Championship and was signed by McLaren as a development driver.
