Keith Urban is a New Zealand-born Australian-American country music singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He has released ten studio albums, four of which have been certified platinum or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Urban has won four Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, and eleven Academy of Country Music Awards.
Urban was born in Whangarei, New Zealand, and moved to Australia with his family when he was two years old. He began playing guitar at the age of six and started performing in local bands when he was a teenager. In 1990, Urban moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in country music.
Urban's debut album, Keith Urban, was released in 1999. The album was a commercial success, reaching number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over two million copies in the United States. Urban's second album, Golden Road, was released in 2002 and was an even greater success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over three million copies in the United States.
Urban's third album, Be Here, was released in 2004 and was also a commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over two million copies in the United States. Urban's fourth album, Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing, was released in 2006 and was his most successful album to date, reaching number two on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over five million copies in the United States.
Urban has continued to release successful albums throughout his career, including Defying Gravity (2009), Get Closer (2010), Fuse (2013), Ripcord (2016), and Graffiti U (2018). He has also won numerous awards, including four Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, and eleven Academy of Country Music Awards.
Urban is married to actress Nicole Kidman. The couple has two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
