Noomi Rapace is a Swedish actress. She is best known for her role as Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptation of the Millennium series, for which she won a Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. She has also starred in the films Prometheus, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Child 44.
Early Life and Career
Noomi Rapace was born in Hudiksvall, Sweden, on December 28, 1979. She is the daughter of Swedish actress Nina Norén and Spanish flamenco dancer Rogelio Durán. Rapace began her acting career in 1996, appearing in the Swedish television series Tre kronor. She made her film debut in 2000, in the Swedish film Bang Bang Orangutang.
Breakthrough Role
Rapace's breakthrough role came in 2009, when she starred as Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptation of the Millennium series. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Rapace's performance earned her a Guldbagge Award for Best Actress. She reprised the role in the sequels The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest.
International Career
