Michael Caine is an English actor who has appeared in more than 160 films and television shows throughout his career. He is one of the most successful and critically acclaimed actors of all time, having won two Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards, and a Golden Globe Award.
Caine was born in London, England, in 1933. He began his acting career in the early 1950s, appearing in small roles in films and television shows. He gained his breakthrough role in the 1964 war film Zulu, in which he played a British soldier fighting against the Zulu army. Caine went on to star in a number of successful films in the 1960s and 1970s, including The Italian Job (1969), Get Carter (1971), and The Man Who Would Be King (1975).
In the 1980s, Caine began to take on more comedic roles. He starred in the 1980 thriller Dressed to Kill, the 1983 romantic comedy Educating Rita, and the 1988 comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
