Early life and education

Rose Byrne was born on July 24, 1979, in Balmain, Sydney, Australia. Her father, Robin Byrne, is a statistician, and her mother, Jane Byrne, is a primary school principal. She has a younger sister, Alice Byrne, who is also an actress.

Byrne attended the Sydney Girls High School and the Australian Theatre for Young People. She then studied at the University of Sydney, where she majored in economics and law. However, she dropped out of university after two years to pursue a career in acting.

Career

Byrne began her acting career in 1994, when she appeared in the Australian television series "Echo Point". She went on to star in a number of other Australian television shows, including "Heartbreak High" and "Wildside".

In 2000, Byrne made her film debut in the Australian film "The Goddess of 1967". She went on to star in a number of other Australian films, including "Two Hands" (1999), "The Independent" (2007), and "The Turning" (2013).

In 2002, Byrne moved to the United States to pursue a career in Hollywood. She made her American film debut in the 2002 film "Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones". She went on to star in a number of other Hollywood films, including "28 Days Later" (2002), "Troy" (2004), "X-Men: First Class" (2011), and "Neighbors" (2014).

Byrne has also appeared in a number of television shows in the United States, including "Damages" (2007–2012), "Get Shorty" (2017–2018), and "Physical" (2021–present).

Personal life

Byrne began dating American actor Bobby Cannavale in 2012. The couple have two sons together, Rocco Robin Cannavale (born 2016) and Rafa Cannavale (born 2017). The family resides in New York City.

Byrne has been nominated for a number of awards for her work in film and television, including two Golden Globe Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. She has won one Golden Globe Award and one Primetime Emmy Award.
