Early life and education

Jai Courtney was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He is the son of Chris Courtney, a former New South Wales Police officer, and Karen Courtney, a childcare worker. He has an older sister, Jessica. Courtney attended The King's School in Parramatta, New South Wales, where he was a member of the school's drama program. After graduating from high school, Courtney studied acting at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth, Western Australia.

Career

Courtney began his acting career in 2005, appearing in a number of Australian television shows, including All Saints and Dangerous. He made his film debut in the 2009 Australian film "Stone Bros.". In 2010, he appeared in the American television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Courtney gained international recognition for his role in the 2011 film "Jack Reacher", starring alongside Tom Cruise. He later appeared in the films "A Good Day to Die Hard" (2013), "Divergent" (2014), "Terminator Genisys" (2015), "Suicide Squad" (2016), and "The Suicide Squad" (2021).

Courtney was born and raised in Australia. He is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Courtney is married to actress Megan Washington. They have two children together.
