Ólafur Arnalds (born 3 November 1986) is an Icelandic musician, composer, and record producer. He is known for his minimalist piano compositions and ambient soundscapes. Arnalds has released nine studio albums, including "Eulogy for Evolution" (2007), "And They Have Escaped the Weight of Darkness" (2008), "For Now I Am Winter" (2011), "Átta" (2013), and "re:member" (2018). He has also collaborated with a variety of artists, including Jon Hopkins, Nils Frahm, and Arnor Dan.
Arnalds was born in Mosfellsbær, Iceland. He began playing the piano at the age of seven and studied classical music at the Reykjavík College of Music. After graduating, he moved to Berlin, Germany, where he began his career as a musician.
Arnalds' music has been featured in a number of films and television shows, including "The Leftovers", "Broadchurch", and "The Crown". He has also composed music for video games, including "Minecraft" and "No Man's Sky".
