Adam Garcia
Adam Garcia (born 1 June 1973) is an Australian dancer, singer, actor, and choreographer. He rose to prominence in the early 2000s for his roles in the stage musicals "Saturday Night Fever" and "Wicked", and in the films "Bootmen", "The Bootmen", and "Coyote Ugly".
Early life
Garcia was born in Wahroonga, New South Wales, and grew up in the Sydney suburb of Thornleigh. He began dancing at the age of four, and by the age of 16 he was a member of the Australian Ballet. In 1990, he left the Australian Ballet to pursue a career in musical theatre.
Career
Garcia's first major role was in the Australian production of "Hot Shoe Shuffle" in 1992. He then went on to star in the Australian productions of "Grease" (1994) and "Saturday Night Fever" (1998). In 1999, he made his Broadway debut in "Saturday Night Fever", for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical.
In 2000, Garcia starred in the film "Bootmen" alongside Hugh Jackman. He then went on to star in the films "The Bootmen" (2002), "Coyote Ugly" (2000), and "Riding in Cars with Boys" (2001).
In 2003, Garcia returned to Broadway to star in the musical "Wicked". He played the role of Fiyero until 2005. He then went on to star in the Australian production of "Wicked" in 2008.
In recent years, Garcia has continued to work in both film and television. He has starred in the films "The Last Song" (2010) and "Dance Academy" (2017). He has also guest-starred on the television shows "Smash" (2012) and "The Mindy Project" (2013).
Personal life
Garcia is married to Nathalia Chubin, a Brazilian dancer and choreographer. They have two children together, a son and a daughter.
