Neil Patrick Harris (born June 15, 1973) is an American actor, singer, and television host. Harris began his career as a child actor, starring in productions such as Clara's Heart (1988) and Purple People Eater (1988). He gained wider recognition for his role as the title character in the television series Doogie Howser, M.D. (1989–1993).
In the years since Doogie Howser, M.D., Harris has appeared in a variety of films and television shows. He has starred in films such as Starship Troopers (1997), Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004), and The Smurfs (2011).
