Meas Sok Sophea
Meas Sok Sophea is a Cambodian-American reality television personality, author, and entrepreneur. She is known for her appearances on the American reality television series Survivor: Cambodia, Second Chance and Survivor: Winners at War, where she placed 7th, 2nd, and 18th, respectively.
Sok Sophea was born in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia, and grew up in a refugee camp after the Khmer Rouge regime took power in 1975. She and her family immigrated to the United States in 1981, and she was raised in Long Beach, California. Sok Sophea graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a degree in business administration.
After graduating from college, Sok Sophea worked as a business consultant and a marketing manager. She also started her own business, a clothing line called "Sophiya." In 2015, she was cast as a contestant on the 31st season of Survivor, Cambodia, Second Chance. Sok Sophea was the first Cambodian-American to compete on the show, and she quickly became a fan favorite. She was known for her strategic gameplay and her strong social skills. Sok Sophea finished in 7th place, but she was invited back to compete in the following season, Survivor: Winners at War.
In Winners at War, Sok Sophea was a target of the other players from the beginning. She was the first player voted out of the game, finishing in 18th place. However, Sok Sophea's time on Survivor was not in vain. She used her platform to raise awareness about the Cambodian genocide and to advocate for refugees. She also wrote a book about her experience on Survivor, called "My Journey: From Refugee to Reality TV Star."
Sok Sophea is a role model for Cambodian-Americans and for all people who have overcome adversity. She is an inspiration to everyone who dreams of achieving their goals, no matter how difficult they may seem.
