Pierre Araghy is a French film producer best known for his work on the films The Artist and Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). He has also produced a number of other successful films, including The Sea Wall and The Square.
Early Life and Career
Pierre Araghi was born in Paris, France in 1978. His parents were both Iranian immigrants. He studied economics at university, but he eventually dropped out to pursue a career in film.
In 2005, Araghi co-founded the production company Agat Films & Cie with his friend Tariq Ben Ammar. The company's first film was The Sea Wall, which was directed by Palme d'Or winner Araghy. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish Araghi as a rising star in the French film industry.
The Artist
In 2011, Araghi produced The Artist, a black-and-white silent film that was directed by Michel Hazanavicius. The film was a surprise hit, and it went on to win five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Jean Dujardain. The Artist's success helped to put Araghi on the international stage, and he has since become one of the most sought-after producers in the world.
