Idrissa Gueye

Idrissa Gana Gueye (born 26 September 1989) is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Premier League club Everton and the Senegal national team.

Gueye began his career in France with Lille, making his professional debut in 2010. He spent six seasons with the club, winning the Ligue 1 title in 2011 and the Coupe de France in 2011 and 2016. In 2015, he joined Aston Villa, but was relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season. He spent the 2016–17 season on loan at Everton, before joining the club permanently for a fee of £7 million.

Gueye has been a regular member of the Senegal national team since 2011, and has represented his country at two World Cups and three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. He was part of the Senegal team that won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, the country's first major international football trophy.

Gueye is a defensive midfielder who is known for his tackling, ball-winning ability, and energy. He is also a good passer and can contribute to his team's attack.
