Taís Araújo

Taís Araújo is a Brazilian actress. She is best known for her roles in the telenovelas Xica da Silva, O Cravo e a Rosa, and Caminho das Índias.

Araújo was born in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 25, 1978. She began her acting career in the early 1990s, appearing in small roles in telenovelas and films. In 1996, she landed her breakthrough role as the title character in the telenovela Xica da Silva. The show was a huge success, and Araújo became a household name in Brazil.

In the years since, Araújo has continued to star in popular telenovelas, including O Cravo e a Rosa (2000), Caminho das Índias (2009), and Cheias de Charme (2012). She has also appeared in several films, including Woman on Top (2000), House of Sand (2005), and Rio, I Love You (2014).

In addition to her acting career, Araújo is also a vocal activist for racial equality. She is a member of the AfroReggae cultural group, which promotes social change through music and dance. She has also spoken out against racism in the Brazilian media.

Araújo is married to Lázaro Ramos, an actor and director. They have two children together.
