Biography

Marie Osmond is an American singer, actress, television personality, and businesswoman. She rose to fame as a child performer with her family, the Osmonds, in the 1960s and 1970s. Osmond has since had a successful solo career in music, television, and theater, and she is also a successful businesswoman.

Osmond was born in Ogden, Utah, to George Virl Osmond and Olive May Davis Osmond. She is the eighth child of ten children. Osmond began performing with her family at a young age, and she appeared on The Andy Williams Show in 1963. In 1971, Osmond signed a solo recording contract with MGM Records. She released her debut album, "Paper Roses," in 1973. The album was a commercial success, and it spawned the hit singles "Paper Roses" and "One Bad Apple."

In 1974, Osmond co-hosted the Donny & Marie variety show with her brother Donny Osmond. The show was a huge success, and it ran for four seasons. Osmond also released several successful solo albums during this time, including "This Is the Way That I Feel" (1975), "Who's Sorry Now" (1975), and "Marie Osmond" (1977).

In the early 1980s, Osmond's career began to decline. She released several unsuccessful albums, and her television show was canceled. Osmond also went through a difficult divorce from her first husband, Stephen Craig. In 1986, Osmond married Brian Blosil, and the couple had five children together.

In the late 1980s, Osmond's career began to revive. She released several successful country music albums, including "Steppin' Out" (1988) and "All in Love" (1990). Osmond also starred in several television movies and specials. In 1995, Osmond returned to Broadway in the musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

In the 2000s, Osmond continued to release successful country music albums, including "I Can Do That" (2000), "More than Words Can Say" (2002), and "My Roots" (2005). Osmond also starred in several television shows, including "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" (2002–2004) and "Dancing with the Stars" (2007).

In 2008, Osmond launched her own line of clothing and home goods at QVC. The line was a huge success, and it helped Osmond to become a successful businesswoman. Osmond has also written several books, including "Behind the Smile: My Journey Out of Postpartum Depression" (2001) and "The Osmond Family Cookbook" (2005).

In 2011, Osmond married Michael Craig. The couple live in Las Vegas, Nevada. Osmond continues to tour and perform, and she is also a successful businesswoman.
