Jeroen van der Boom
Jeroen van der Boom (born 27 September 1972 in Noordwijk, Netherlands) is a Dutch singer and actor. He is best known as the lead singer of the Dutch boy band Caught in the Act.
Personal life
After Caught in the Act broke up in 1998, van der Boom focused on his solo career. He released four studio albums, all of which were certified platinum in the Netherlands. In 2000, he represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "On My Way". He finished 12th in the competition.
In addition to his music career, van der Boom has also appeared in several television shows and films. He starred in the Dutch show "Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden" from 2000 to 2001. He also appeared in the films "Sinterklaas en het Pakjesmysterie" (2002) and "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo" (2005).
In 2011, van der Boom joined the cast of the Dutch soap opera "Onderweg naar Morgen". He played the role of Marco van Dijk until the show ended in 2012.
In 2013, van der Boom released his fifth studio album, "Zing Voor Me". The album was a commercial success, reaching number one on the Dutch Albums Chart.
In 2014, van der Boom participated in the Dutch television show "Dancing with the Stars". He was partnered with professional dancer Dewi Riri. The couple won the competition.
Controversy
In 2015, van der Boom was involved in a scandal when it was revealed that he had been having an affair with a married woman. The woman's husband confronted van der Boom and threatened to kill him. Van der Boom eventually apologized for his actions.
Reunion
In 2016, Caught in the Act reunited for a series of concerts. The band performed in several cities across the Netherlands and Belgium.
Recent years
In recent years, van der Boom has continued to release new music and perform live. He has also appeared in several television shows, including "The Voice of Holland" and "All Together Now".
