Ivan Perišić

Ivan Perišić (born 2 February 1989) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the Croatia national team.

Perišić began his career at Hajduk Split, where he spent three seasons before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2011. He won the Bundesliga in his second season with Dortmund, and was named in the UEFA Champions League squad of the season for the 2012–13 campaign. Perišić moved to Internazionale in 2015, where he won the Serie A title in his first season. He joined Bayern Munich on loan in 2019, and won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal in his only season with the club. Perišić returned to Internazionale in 2020, and won the Serie A title again in 2021.

Perišić has made over 100 appearances for the Croatia national team, and has represented his country at two FIFA World Cups and two UEFA European Championships. He was part of the Croatia team that reached the final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where he scored in the final against France.

Club career

Hajduk Split

Perišić began his career at Hajduk Split, where he made his debut in the 2006–07 season. He quickly became a regular in the team, and helped Hajduk win the Croatian Cup in 2009 and 2010. Perišić also played in the UEFA Champions League with Hajduk, and scored his first goal in the competition against Anderlecht in 2009.

Borussia Dortmund

In January 2011, Perišić joined Borussia Dortmund for a fee of €5 million. He made his debut for Dortmund in a 2–1 win over Bayer Leverkusen on 5 February 2011. Perišić scored his first goal for Dortmund in a 3–1 win over Hannover 96 on 12 March 2011.

In the 2011–12 season, Perišić was a key player for Dortmund as they won the Bundesliga title. He scored 9 goals in 28 league appearances, and also provided 8 assists. Perišić was also named in the UEFA Champions League squad of the season for the 2012–13 campaign, after helping Dortmund reach the final of the competition.

Internazionale

In August 2015, Perišić joined Internazionale for a fee of €16 million. He made his debut for Inter in a 2–0 win over Hellas Verona on 23 August 2015. Perišić scored his first goal for Inter in a 2–1 win over Carpi on 26 September 2015.

In his first season at Inter, Perišić helped the team win the Serie A title. He also played a key role in Inter's run to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, where they were eliminated by Juventus.

Bayern Munich (loan)

In August 2019, Perišić joined Bayern Munich on a season-long loan. He made his debut for Bayern in a 2–0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on 16 August 2019. Perišić scored his first goal for Bayern in a 3–0 win over Schalke 04 on 24 August 2019.

In his only season at Bayern, Perišić won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal. He also played in the UEFA Champions League with Bayern, and helped the team reach the semi-finals of the competition.

Return to Internazionale

In September 2020, Perišić returned to Internazionale on a permanent deal. He signed a three-year contract with the club. Perišić made his second debut for Inter in a 2–1 win over Benevento on 26 September 2020. Perišić scored his first goal since returning to Inter in a 3–0 win over Genoa on 17 October 2020.

In the 2020–21 season, Perišić helped Inter win the Serie A title for the second time in his career. He also played a key role in Inter's run to the final of the Coppa Italia, where they were defeated by Juventus.

Tottenham Hotspur

In July 2022, Perišić joined Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer. He signed a two-year contract with the club. Perišić made his debut for Tottenham in a 4–1 win over Southampton on 6 August 2022. Perišić scored his first goal for Tottenham in a 2–0 win over Nottingham Forest on 13 August 2022.

International career

Perišić has made over 100 appearances for the Croatia national team, and has represented his country at two FIFA World Cups and two UEFA European Championships.
