Guus Meeuwis
Guus Meeuwis (born March 23, 1972) is a Dutch singer-songwriter and television host. He is best known as the lead singer of the Dutch pop band Guus Meeuwis & Vagant, which he formed in 1984. The band has released 10 studio albums, 4 live albums, and 33 singles, and has sold over 2.5 million records worldwide. Meeuwis is also a successful solo artist, having released 5 studio albums, 2 live albums, and 16 singles. He has sold over 1 million records as a solo artist.
Meeuwis was born in Tilburg, Netherlands. He began singing at a young age, and he formed his first band, Vagant, when he was 12 years old. The band later changed its name to Guus Meeuwis & Vagant. The band's first album, Het leven is goed in de wei, was released in 1995. The album was a commercial success, and it launched the band's career.
Guus Meeuwis & Vagant has released a string of successful albums over the years, including Schouder aan schouder (1997), Blauw (1999), en Rauw (2001). The band has also had a number of hit singles, including "Het is een nacht", "Brabant", and "Geef mij je angst".
