Liam Hemsworth (born 13 January 1990) is an Australian actor. He is best known for his roles as Marcus in the Australian soap opera Neighbours (2007-2008), Gale Hawthorne in the Hunger Games film series (2012-2015), and Jake Morrison in the science fiction film Independence Day: Resurgence (2016).

Hemsworth was born in Melbourne, Australia, to Leonie Hemsworth, an English teacher, and Craig Hemsworth, a social-services counselor. He has two older brothers, Luke and Chris, who are also actors.

Hemsworth began his acting career in 2007, when he joined the cast of the Australian soap opera Neighbours. He played the role of Marcus for two years before leaving the show in 2008.

In 2010, Hemsworth made his Hollywood debut in the film The Last Song, alongside Miley Cyrus.
