Biography

Petr Janda is a Czech musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the founder and frontman of the rock band Olympic, one of the most popular and successful bands in Czech history.

Janda was born in Prague in 1942. He began playing guitar at an early age and formed his first band, Crazy Boys, in 1960. The band later changed its name to Olympic and released its debut album in 1965.

Olympic quickly became one of the most popular bands in Czechoslovakia. The band's music was a mix of rock, pop, and folk, and its lyrics often dealt with social and political issues. Olympic was also one of the first Czech bands to tour internationally, performing in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

In addition to his work with Olympic, Janda has also released several solo albums. He has also written and produced songs for other artists, including Karel Gott, Lucie Bílá, and Hana Zagorová.

Janda is a highly respected figure in Czech music. He has been awarded numerous awards, including the Order of Merit of the Czech Republic. He was also inducted into the Czech Music Hall of Fame in 2003.
