Michael Austin Cera is a Canadian actor, musician, and songwriter. He is best known for his roles as George Michael Bluth in the sitcom Arrested Development (2003–2006, 2013, 2018–2019), Evan Baxter in the film Bruce Almighty (2003), Paulie Bleeker in the comedy-drama film Juno (2007), Scott Pilgrim in the action comedy film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), and Nick Twisp in the coming-of-age comedy-drama film Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008).

Cera has also appeared in several other films and television shows, including Molly (1999), Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), Superbad (2007), Year One (2009), Crystal Fairy (2013), Magic Magic (2013), The Lego Movie (2014), Sausage Party (2016), and Molly's Game (2017).

In addition to his acting career, Cera is also a musician. He has released two albums, True That (2014) and This Afternoon (2017).

Personal life

Cera was born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of Luigi Cera, an Italian immigrant, and Linda Cera, a Canadian. Cera has two older sisters, Jordan and Molly.

Cera attended Robert H. Lagerquist Senior Public School and Heart Lake Secondary School in Brampton. He dropped out of high school in 2005 to pursue his acting career.

Cera is a vegan. He is also a supporter of the LGBT community.

Career

Cera began his acting career in 1999, when he appeared in the television film Molly. He made his feature film debut in 2003, when he appeared in the comedy-drama film Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.

Cera gained wider recognition for his role as George Michael Bluth in the sitcom Arrested Development. The show aired from 2003 to 2006, and it was revived for a fourth season in 2013.

Cera has since starred in a number of films, including Superbad (2007), Juno (2007), Year One (2009), Crystal Fairy (2013), Magic Magic (2013), The Lego Movie (2014), Sausage Party (2016), and Molly's Game (2017).
