Maximiliano Gómez
Maximiliano Gómez González (born 14 August 1996) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a striker for Süper Lig club Trabzonspor and the Uruguay national team.
Club career
Defensor Sporting
Born in Paysandú, Gómez began his career with Defensor Sporting. He made his professional debut on 15 February 2015, starting in a 1–0 home win against Juventud de Las Piedras. Gómez scored his first goal on 21 March, netting the winner in a 2–1 away victory over Sud América.
Celta Vigo
On 13 July 2017, Gómez signed a five-year deal with La Liga club Celta de Vigo for a reported fee of €4 million. He made his debut on 19 August, starting in a 3–2 away win against Real Sociedad. Gómez scored his first goal for the club on 9 September, netting the equalizer in a 1–1 home draw against Eibar.
Valencia
On 14 July 2019, Gómez joined Valencia CF on a five-year contract for a reported fee of €40 million. He made his debut on 17 August, starting in a 1–1 away draw against Real Sociedad. Gómez scored his first goal for the club on 24 August, netting the winner in a 2–1 home victory over Mallorca.
Trabzonspor
On 27 August 2022, Gómez moved to Süper Lig club Trabzonspor for a reported fee of €8 million. He made his debut on 3 September, starting in a 2–0 home win against Kasımpaşa. Gómez scored his first goal for the club on 11 September, netting the opener in a 2–2 away draw against Beşiktaş.
International career
Gómez has represented Uruguay at various youth levels. He was part of the squad that won the 2015 South American U-20 Championship. Gómez made his senior debut on 25 March 2017, starting in a 1–0 friendly win against Peru. He scored his first international goal on 23 March 2018, netting the opener in a 2–1 friendly victory over the Czech Republic.

Gómez is the son of former footballer José Gómez.
