Paulina Rubio

Paulina Rubio Dosamantes (born June 17, 1971) is a Mexican singer, songwriter, actress, television personality, model, coach, and businesswoman. Often referred to as "La Chica Dorada" (The Golden Girl), Rubio is one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time, having sold over 20 million records worldwide. She has won numerous awards and accolades, including five Latin Grammy Awards, two Billboard Latin Music Awards, four Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, and a Kids' Choice Award.

Rubio was born in Mexico City, Mexico, to Enrique Rubio González, a lawyer, and Susana Dosamantes, an actress. She began her career as a child actress in telenovelas, before transitioning to a successful singing career in the early 1990s. Her debut album, "Paulina Rubio" (1992), sold over two million copies worldwide and was certified platinum in Mexico and Spain. She followed up with a series of successful albums, including "24 Kilates" (1993), "El Tiempo Es Oro" (1995), "Planeta Paulina" (1996), and "Paulina" (2000).

In the 2000s, Rubio continued to release successful albums, including "Border Girl" (2002), "Pau-Latina" (2004), "Ananda" (2006), and "Gran City Pop" (2009). She also made her English-language debut with the album "Paulina" (2004), which was certified gold in the United States. In addition to her music career, Rubio has also appeared in a number of films and television shows, including "Bésame en la Boca" (1995), "Duro y Contra Ellos" (1998), and "La Voz... México" (2012–2016).

Personal life

Rubio has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Mexican singer Colate from 2007 to 2012. They have one son, Andrea Nicolás. Her second marriage was to Chilean businessman Jorge Gálvez from 2016 to 2019. They have one daughter, Eros.

Rubio is a bilingual speaker of Spanish and English. She is also a fluent speaker of Italian and French. She has homes in Mexico City, Miami, and Los Angeles.
