Naomi Scott is a British actress, singer, and songwriter. She rose to fame for her role as Mohini "Mo" Banjaree in the Disney Channel series Life Bites (2008–2009). She has since starred in a number of films, including The Martian (2015), Power Rangers (2017), Aladdin (2019), and Charlie's Angels (2019).
Scott was born in Hounslow, London, England, to a Gujarati Indian father and an English mother. She began her career as a child actress, appearing in several stage productions and commercials. In 2009, she released her debut single, "Invisible".
In 2015, Scott made her film debut in The Martian, directed by Ridley Scott. She played the role of Ryoko, a Japanese botanist who is stranded on Mars with Mark Watney (Matt Damon). The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $630 million worldwide.
In 2017, Scott starred in Power Rangers, a reboot of the popular 1990s television series. She played the role of Kimberly Hart, the Pink Ranger. The film was a commercial success, grossing over $142 million worldwide.
In 2019, Scott starred in Aladdin, a live-action remake of the 1992 Disney animated film. She played the role of Princess Jasmine. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $1 billion worldwide.
Later that year, Scott starred in Charlie's Angels, a reboot of the popular 1970s television series. She played the role of Elena Houghlin, one of three private detectives who work for the Townsend Agency. The film was a critical and commercial failure, grossing only $73 million worldwide.
Despite the failure of Charlie's Angels, Scott remains a popular and in-demand actress. She is currently set to star in the upcoming film Eternals, a superhero film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Personal life
Scott is married to Jordan Spence, a British soccer player. The couple have two children together. Scott is a Christian and has spoken about her faith in several interviews.
