Nia Jax: The Samoan Superstar of WWE

Nia Jax (born May 29, 1984) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where she performs on the Raw brand. She is a one-time Raw Women's Champion and a two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion with Shayna Baszler. Jax is also the cousin of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Early Life and Career

Nia Jax was born Savelina Fanene in Sydney, Australia. She is of Samoan and German descent. Jax began training as a wrestler in 2014 at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. She made her in-ring debut in 2015, competing in NXT, WWE's developmental brand.

NXT

Jax quickly made a name for herself in NXT, becoming known for her power and strength. She challenged Asuka for the NXT Women's Championship in 2016, but was unsuccessful. However, Jax continued to rise up the ranks, and in 2017, she won the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship with Shayna Baszler.

Raw

Jax was called up to the main roster in 2016, and she immediately made an impact. She challenged Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women's Championship in 2017, but was again unsuccessful. However, Jax continued to be a force to be reckoned with, and in 2018, she won the Raw Women's Championship for the first time.

WWE Women's Tag Team Champion

In 2019, Jax and Baszler formed a tag team and challenged The IIconics for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. They were successful in winning the titles, and they held them for several months.
